Pricing Change Insights
As a small business that has a very long history with our customers and the greater Candy Manor community, we try to be mindful of many things as we grow, but the four greatest priorities for the Candy Manor that we aren't willing to compromise on, are creating a quality product that honors the history of handcrafted chocolates & fudge, providing quality year round jobs with benefits to our team members, growing the business sustainably, and giving back to our surrounding communities. It is with these in mind that we try to make all of our decisions.
Something you may have been hearing about on the news is cocoa futures. While the reality of this is very complicated and long term and it would be impossible to put any real quantitative impact together, in the short term we know the cost of our bulk chocolate in the immediate is up almost 100%.
Additionally over the last few years you may have seen the emergence of retailers posting cash prices and charging a Credit Card processing fee for all purchases made with cards. This is something we understand as Credit Card companies continue to increase their fees for businesses every time a credit card is used, (having a very big impact on those with small transactions). While I can't say that this is something we won't make the decision to move forward with in the future, it's not something that we feel comfortable with at this point in time.
In reality, there are many challenges every business faces, and as recent history has shown (with the pandemic) it's impossible to be prepared for every possible scenario, or change, but we want to do the best that we can to set ourselves not just to navigate through them, but to thrive. Our team has always been able to do that with positivity, teamwork, and an incredible work ethic. As we move forward with these changes, which we feel are reasonable for our industry, we feel confident in continuing to be able to focus on the Candy Manor's priorities, that make us the business we are.
We sincerely appreciate all of our customers, and we will continue to do our best to be thoughtful about these decisions and how they impact the greater Candy Manor community.
Thank you all,
Paige & Robbie
